Charles Clemons, MDiv
Board Certified Chaplain & Pastoral CounselorCounseling Since: 2015
Board Certified Chaplain & Pastoral Counselor
Charles’s journey in pastoral counseling was inspired by witnessing the love and dedication of his father as a pastor in New Jersey. Being exposed to his leadership in the lives of broken people within the inner-city and rural communities was a model for ministry and counseling that inspires Charles to this day.
Charles received his ordination as a pastor in 1996 and has served as a Youth Pastor, Senior Pastor, and Christian Aid & Relief Worker in Africa, Latin America, and Eastern Europe (Children’s Hunger Fund, 2005-2010). Most recently he has served as a Hospital Chaplain (Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, 2015-2020, UCLA Health-LA), serving clients/patients, families and first responders impacted by trauma and grief.
In 2021, Charles completed his Master of Divinity, from the Master’s Seminary, in Sun Valley, CA, and received extensive training in Biblical Counseling as well as Chaplaincy. Charles volunteers for local non-profits that offer to mentor to young men between 6 – 18 years old and support those struggling with addictions, homelessness, and family conflict.
Charles creates space for clients to share their experiences through calm, empathic listening, and guided questions so that the client can discover answers to some of life’s hardest questions for themselves. He can apply Scriptural aids, and therapeutic tools to best provide meaningful support to his clients.
Charles has been married for 26 years and has four children. In his spare time, he enjoys reading science fiction and history, playing basketball with his kids, cooking barbecue, traveling, snorkeling, and Old School R&B.
